Protecting Minors
19+ Only
Saskatchewan Casino accepts members from age 19 onward. If you have not yet turned 19, you cannot sign up, add money to a balance, use the Lobby, Jackpots or Live Casino, take part in Promotions or become part of the VIP Club. We make our games available only in locations whose laws allow betting over the internet. Each member's age and identity is checked against Canadian standards, and those same standards inform the anti-money-laundering screening we carry out.
- Accounts belong to one adult and are not transferable.
- Lending your account, password or payment details to a minor is a serious breach of our Player Agreement.
- All our marketing targets adults, and none of it is created to attract young people.
- Our free daily prize game and every promotion are restricted to verified adult account holders.
Shared Devices
In many homes, phones, tablets and laptops are used by the whole family. A few simple habits make it far more difficult for a minor to access your account:
- Log out completely at the end of every session.
- Turn off password saving for Saskatchewan Casino in your browser.
- Lock your device using a PIN, a password or your fingerprint.
- Give every member of the family their own user profile.
- Store payment cards and banking apps where others cannot reach them, and switch off saved payment details on any shared device.
- Never play in front of children or describe gambling as an easy source of money.
Our approach to cookies and remembered logins is described in Cookies and Tracking.
Parental Controls and Filtering
Parents and guardians can add a further layer of protection with widely available tools:
- Operating system controls: Windows, macOS, iOS and Android include family settings that limit apps, websites and purchases.
- Filtering software: specialised programs can stop gambling sites from loading in any browser on a device.
- Router and network filters: many home routers and internet providers can block gambling categories for the entire household.
- App store restrictions: age limits and purchase approval stop young people installing gambling apps.
- Payment safeguards: purchase approval on Apple Pay and alerts on cards and bank accounts reveal unexpected spending.
Speaking openly with young people about the risks of betting is as important as any filter.
If a Minor Is Found
If we discover, or have reason to suspect, that a person below 19 can reach an account, we respond immediately:
- We suspend the account straight away and all play is stopped.
- We ask the registered account holder to supply proof of age.
- If we confirm that a minor has used the account, we close it permanently.
- Any winnings are treated as void and will not be paid.
- Deposits are handled in line with Canadian law and the circumstances of the case.
- We record the details so that the person cannot register again.
Where an adult account holder has knowingly let someone underage use their account, that adult's account is closed too. If you suspect a minor is playing at Saskatchewan Casino, tell us and we will investigate.
How We Check Age
Age verification is built into registration and takes place before any deposit can be made.
- When registering, each player provides their full name, date of birth and residential address.
- We verify this information electronically using reliable data sources.
- Where electronic checks are not conclusive, we request a current government photo document and, if needed, proof of address.
- We confirm that payment methods belong to the verified account holder.
- Your location is confirmed before you play, and we check again whenever account details are updated or account activity gives cause for concern.
Until an account is verified, it cannot be used to deposit or play. Our Verification and AML page explains the documents and checks in more detail, and our Privacy Notice describes how we treat your personal information.
